The fast majority of you will no doubt tow the line irregardless of any former packs with the devil... others will flush out their pain-staking prose, but, to eachs own. ;^) A friend sent me this link. If you love language in all its usages, even the most peculiar and outrageous, you might want to take a peek. :chuckle: Well, part of the definition is that the eggcorn version is logically defensible... and sometimes poetic or picturesque. I'm not sure if the vivid imagination comes with the migraine or not, but when I read "making packs with the devil" I have to wonder how many devils can you fit into a sardine tin? And "the fast majority" is surely heading lemming-like for a cliff or barreling bull-headed down narrow streets. We might pick a particularly rich example and make a challenge out of it? Carolly

I used to smoke Camels, non-filtered. Guess that was my pack with the Devil. A challenge sounds sort of cool, rememberiscent of Crescents old bad writing challenge. I loved that one (it gave birth to Max). jon
