I've been playing around with PS CS2. You can take a picture with multiple exposures and merge them down to an HDRI file. Here is a sample render with a PS produced HDRI file. I found a site that had a picture with 5 exposures and merged them down. The results are quite good.

I didn't know PSCS2 did that - cool news. Mine's been sitting in a box waiting for me to install it for two weeks. Uh-oh, more things to take up my time now! ;)

Nice! I have been looking for good reviews before purchasing the upgrade.

Really good!! But, as i usually do, i'll buy Creative Suite 3. One upgrade every two release, because the price will be the same and i can live another year without CS2;-) BTW, the hdri generated from PSCS2 seems very very nice!! -TOXE

Hey TOXE, that's exactly how I approach my PS upgrades as well! Since I am still using 7.0, I guess it's time to upgrade. ;-) Of course when it comes to Carrara upgrades, I can't resist any new verison. Chuck

You're right Mark!! It would be great to have something like carrara 4.5 for free! BTW, the best of all regarding money for now is Wings IMHO, very powerful, robust and free;-) What do you think? It's modeled in Wings in 5 minutes... -TOXE

Yes, Wings is the best value, no doubt! Great work TOXE! Are they cushions or suitcases? ;-) In other words, are you staying at home or going on holiday?? ;-)

sailor_ed posted Wed, 18 May 2005 at 9:29 AM

Thats very impressive for 5 minutes. It takes me so long to learn a new modeler that I have problems evaluating them all! :-(
