Subject: When does sepia work...when does it not

Seems to me sepia is for a reminiscent appearance.But sometimes I think colour should be the way certain images be put in my gallery. I never know until after I load it and then look at it for a few days. When I tone one to sepia or even just grayscale it I am actually hiding what I think are not so good of colours. That and grey skies. This one I am having some difficulty making that decision.
