Can someone tell me how to save the overhead black and white image of the terrains to load and use again? Thanks!

I dont think you can...but as an option you could save the terrain as a preset. Then you could reuse it.

in the terrain editor, use the keyboard shortcut for 'copy' in your favorite 2d image editor, create a new document and paste. you will, however, lose information - Bryce's terrain editor uses 65536 levels of grey whereas once you've pasted it, it'll only be 256 levels of grey. saving as a preset won't have that problem.

Caly is right, also in say..Photoshop, you can add some blur and set the DPI higher and it will clean the greyscale up nicely, I use this method to output greyscales for game terrains and they come out pretty smooth:-)
Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

That's pretty much how I learned Bryce back in '96 when I first bought Bryce2 Carolyn, trial and error. Keep on clicking. ;-)
