Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Joints are so tricky. Tweaks that gain in one aspect come with a price somewhere else. I'm of the mind that a pose is unique to each joint set up, and like morphs poses are unique per figure. It is so decieving to have the same poses applied to many figures, though I know you didn't do that Jim. I like your changes to Jessie's knees and Elbows especially. You know? Poseete wasn't that bad was she? My eye kept going back to her over and over again.

Thanks guys! I started with the same pose and then adjusted for each, trying to get the same result and well as optimize the bending for that figure. I tried not to cheat, too. ;-) The Posette has a lot of problems woth her collars, her kness and elbows are not too hot, either. Yamatos bending system seems a big improvement, though. I think a LOT of us like her basic shape better than V3, so that sort of tints how we see her. I also just posed another test in the thread.

"What are the similarities and differences between the Yamato joint system and the original joint system?"
MUCH improved posing even without the help of JCM morphs:
Almost all current figures have less than optimal joint parameters, (I think The Girl has the best out of the box), so what Yamato did was improving them for Posette.
The new JP settings can be applied or removed like an injection morph, and are included with NEAena.
(Which is a Posette that was remapped and improved by Narcissus)

The new JPs work of course with the original Posette, too.

Nea does not include Yamato's joint system, I asked for permission but never got responce,However I suggest using his JP system with Nea for better results! Nea's joints are a bit altered but the centers are not moved because then Posettes clothes would not fit. You can find the JP converter at the link... pitkladi didn't assume that smoothing was going to help with bending. actually, in your bending test, the only one without that weird thigh deformation on bend is posette. that said, you've made jessi's joints much, much better. i love what you did to her shoulder blades, knees and joints in terms of bending. i would really be interested in her if you hadn't changed her proportions as well. not that some didn't need changing for the work to happen, but i'm not personally into the shape of g.j.'s legs, feet, arms and especially hands. i know tons of people will be, she just doesn't fit my taste, even for a petite figure.

Being lightwight has its advantages, doesnt it ?
(NEAena =20355 polys)
;-)
(To be fair I admit I made two quick magnet morphs to smooth her butt a bit and add gravity to her breasts for the upside down look. But otherwise everthing is "as is" and also no postwork, just pure PP render)
Seriously, you are doing great work on Glamorous Jessi, Jim, and I hope youve get tons of sales for her. :-)
But I also really wish I had your knowledge so I could REALLY improve NEA and/or Vicky 2 to make the "ultimate" low/medium rez mesh.
Im sure Glamourous Jessi will be as great as IngenueVicky and StephPetite, but how much better could the result be if one would start with a good mesh intead try to improve a bad one?
(Sorry, but personally I find Jessis mesh "as is" pretty bad as there is so much wrong with it.
With that much polygons to play with she should have been perfect right out the box. James at least has some great looks and I think he is much more competetive against M3 than Jessi is against V3. LOL !)
Speaking of male meshes: When will Simeon be out, Pit ? :-)
Cant wait to play with him !!!

At the link, no figures were harmed in creating this test, 'nuff said!
