Hey dear friends I've been working on some organic textures and elevation map and I'm surprised with the result! it works well! The first texture is made to "simulate" a kind of cocoon (1 sphere and 2 terrains) I've painted the texture, trans map and bump map.. and it's also very interesting to apply this texture on a 2d plan in Bryce. The second texture comes with an elevetion map ( to import in the terrain editor... then just simply apply the texture.. and you got those 'disgusting' but really organic things that you can see below.. the second image of terrain is added a 2D plan with the cocoon texture. The third terrain pic is another terrain and texture based on the fisrt one. Comments and critiks much appreciated!

Amazing work Pidjy! When you're finished with your final images, a tut on how you paint those tubes in Photoshop would be much appreciated.

Whoa!! This is hot!! So many questions... how many layers?, cross lines first then gradients?...blur everything after for smoother levels?..LOL, I'll wait for the TUT.
Very impressive pidjy.

This is wonderful and inspired, and vaguely disgusting stuff, lol!! Are you certain you are not really H.R. Geiger?
Seriously though, I would love to see a tut on how you achieve this, Mon Ami.

I've used a blue background to "indicate" the transparent layers Step 1 - Draw some lines (as shown) on the fisrt PSP layer. Step 2 - On a second layer draw a white torus. step3 - IN the PSP layer menu go to the layer style menu then choose "inner glow" In the inner glow effect menu set the default color to black, set the glow mode to "normal" set the glow size to get the wanted gradient. Step 4 - Make a selection of the torus, invert the selection, go to the layer one and erase the selection. The lines on the first layer must fit the torus perfectly ( as shown on the pic 4) Step 5 - add a new layer to the composition, select the torus, return to the new layer and make 2 "contour" using black and white colors. Once that done, merge the layers and add a soft blur. Step 6 - make a selection and cut the part you want of the torus. step 7 - Duplicate the cut part, give it a 90 rotation, duplicate it again, rotae it etc etc etc as many times as needed.. step 8 - Merge the differents parts in one layer , duplicate it, resize it (as many time as needed) give each layer diferents contrast value. I'm sorry but I don't have the time to make a more complete tutorial, I hope that my indications will help those that want to try to make some (tubes). Cheers! (sorry for my poor language.... Why don't you all speak French!!!! LOL)
