Hi, now how do I remove all the sunlight? Here's the view from outside: ^^^^^

But here, looking out of the opening in the building, I see loads of dratted unwanted light, and yes, I HAVE clicked on "Disable Sun Light". Help?

That's probably coming from the ambient channel in your textures, have you looked at your materials?

From left to right the ambience is: 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 100

You can't see the 0 at all, because sunlight is disabled and there are no other lights.

Zero haze....make sure all your haze settings are at zero. You could also try setting the haze colour darker.

Also, you might try setting the Sky Dome color to Black (or a darker color). Looks like that's why the walls are dark but the ground is light. And yeah, darker or less haze.

Good ideas, but what's getting in the way is your Atmosphere. The sky. Turn it off too! Open the Sky Palette at the top, far left icon click the tab. Select "Atmosphere Off", and change the pure Blue color to Black. Done.

LSD, aha!!! Thanks. Spankin'! The funny thing is that it doesn't really affect this scene at all as I'm planning on building a corridor through the arch... or maybe just another room, anyway nothing to show the outside. I was just miffed that that ubiquitous haze seems to be ever present almost all the time, and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, or understand why there was still light out there without any sunlight. Weird!

When you want to use an all Black scene go to the sky library there is an atmosphere made just for this kind of Project...

FranOnTheEdge posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 11:11 AM

Nah, s'okay foleypro, not for this scene. But I'll remember that for another time... (actually I'll probably forget it in about... ooooh, an hour or so?) Memory like a sieve, brain the size of a pea. Now if I just had a reason to USE it, then I might remember. (sigh)
