Would this Kozaburo image be considered the best Poser rendered image that hasn't been postworked in another program or rendered in another application?

I think it is myself. There are alot of images that are pure poser that are great. Can't think of any off hand though. Ryuslilangel Poser Moderator

It's very, very good! I don't think Poser 4 can be bullied into rendering better than this. Poser 5 (and now 6) have a more advanced render engine, and it's possible to get better renders than your link. richardson has done some pretty amazing stuff. So have face_off, templargfx, RGUS, all pure Poser renders. And I'm rather happy with my latest too (see link). Sorry for the plug ;)

I can't call mysef a "Poser purist", as I do use postwork if/when neccesary....but generally after (x) hours of brainstrain + who knows how many render crashes, I usually just too lazy to do postwork. Anywho...I kinda fond of this one; http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=473344 As fer my other 2 cents, I personally believe that "massive postwork images" (i.e; painted clothes/ hair, "important effects" to an image, etc.) belong in the multimedia gallery, as it combines techniques unique to separate programs. But WTF do I know? I believe NVIATWAS is a artform, too ;-)

This was one of my final renders in P4 before using the carrara rendering engine. Post only for text.

I love pure renders. I love post work too but a pure render si soo satisfying when it comes out right. This is one of my own favorites from a test render of a V3 morph I did ages ago for fun. Even though here are no shadows or anything and is just a old wip, it looks real to me. Anton

I hardly ever do any traditional postwork painting on my images... usually just some layer adjustments (brightness and contrast) and occasionally some minor touch-ups on a bad crease somewhere. The above image is a typical before and after for me. [nods to svdl for the dynamic clothing]

I usually use a lot of postwork, and without any trouble. Art is mixed mediums. But sometimes I create pics that dont need it ... http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=903744 http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=938873

I have a lot of trouble with creating anything and get easily frustrated. If I can get something I'm happy with, good. The main thing is the only thing I use PSP for is to make thumbnails. I've got one image where I tried painting hair and I've done a couple of poser to bryce things (not sure they are in my gallery). I guess I believe that a product should work well as a stand alone product.

vilian posted Wed, 25 May 2005 at 10:05 AM

At the begining I was sure I won't ever need any postwork. And then my Posette' breasts were rendered octagonally. I almost fainted and quickly learned how to make minor postwork to hide broken/blocky mesh and so on. I don't have abilities that would allow me to use Poser as stand-alone. (And I don't have compy good enough to use V3 instead of good old Posette).

it's nice to make images without postwork, and most of the time i don't bother, as in the link below http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=963908&Start=217&Sectionid=1&filter_genre_id=0&WhatsNew=Yes the only postwork is my name... (if that counts)lol...

My postwork is usually limited to compositing multiple renders. IMO, the linked pic is one of my best "Pure Poser" images. No compositing, no painting, a single render pass with a heck of a lot of pre-work. Oh yeah, not work friendly - there's a nekkid woman in there!
