I am about ready to uninstall Poser6 for good. I made a leotard/swimsuit for Katie in Silo. I imported the obj, and it fits well. After grouping it, and making it a conforming figure, it looks like S#!T. What the hell is wrong with Poser that it must mangle an object to look like a dog chewed it? The first picture is how it looks as an imported and ungrouped obj. The second pic is what Poser6 tears it up. A very rabid- Starkdog

Here is the Poser6 chop shop image.

Are you sure it's not just the body poking through the clothing?
Making tight clothing is very hard to do without a lot of JP tweaking on the clothing figure. You can't just conform something that tight on a Poser figure without a lot detailed JP tweaking.

Have you made similar clothing before in other Poser versions?

Hi ScottA, Yes, I have made a swimsuit for both Maddie and Laura, and it conforms well, except for the crotch, but I solved that problem. I just think that my version of Poser6 is FUBAR. I even updated the content, and installed SR1, and it still happens. Even Jessi pokes through the Polo shirt really bad. I am not impressed at all. Anyways, I gave Katie a little smile, and look how her face distorts. I am giving up on Poser6 until SR4. I will just continue to use Poser5, as it is much more stable than P6. -The Starkdog

Have you tried it in P5? I'm inclined to think it's a jp thing as ScottA pointed out. The 'smile' issue makes me wonder if you might have some corrupted files. I'd think that if simply putting a smile on Jessi caused that we'd probably have heard about the problem before this ;)

That sure looks like corruption - as if the geometry vertices had been rearranged 'cause she ain't smilin'. The smile has spread to other parts of the head!

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

...by the way Stark. I admire you a lot. You're a doer. I remember it wasn't long ago when you were a complete newbie to Poser. Now you're tackling things that a lot of long time users never mess with. Good job, bud...

"I will just continue to use Poser5, as it is much more stable than P6" How many of us thought we could never possibly hear a statement like that? 8 )~ I feel for ya Stark. There are few things more frustrating than problematic software. Tom

Might it also be possible that you don't have the figure updates?

I've found that you have to re-zero conforming clothes the first time you conform them - even if the JPs are correct, and the figures match etc, the first time I've conformed things they've done something very similar to your picture. Going to the JP screen and selecting zero figure for the clothes might make it fit properly

ISTR that you have to zero the conforming item, and the select Memorise | Figure on the edit menu and resave. See linked thread for more details.

Ok, I managed to bump up the z-scale and got it able to conform nicely. Katie's face is still messed up, so I might have to re-install her. Here she is jumping into Dimension3D's pool. However, the pool deck does not render. I've tried reversing normals to no avail. I've also hidden Poser's ground plane, and the pool deck is still black. It works fine in Poser5, so something is fishy here. I think that when I do package this, that I will have a conforming and dynamic suit, as I am new to incorporating clothing morphs, and the FUN I've had with Poser6, I just decided on a dynamic swimsuit for morphed Katie figures, and conforming for stock Katie. -The Starkdog

I have modeled alot of clothes for V3 and have come across this minor error, Try first to export you character figure as an obj (with no world transformations) then re-import and see if the clothing still is in the correct position when that is also imported (probably will also look like the poke through), the reason for this is that the figure wasn't Zero'd when you based your costume apon it. Try zeroing the figure and loading the clothing as an obj then moving the clothing to the correct position, and save the obj, (preferably under another name and alter a copy of the cr2 for this clothing so that you have a backup), then retry the newer obj (cr2)

Getting old and still making "art" without soiling myself, now that's success.
