Hi, folks! Following some 3d modelers tutorials, when you put a shader on the element, they use other names for some functions. Example: diffuse, specular and self-ilumination. In Carraras shaders what is those parameters? I understand diffuse as a "Color". But, I dont get what is the other two. Thanks!

Specular has been discussed before, and it should pretty much match the Highlight channel... Self-illumination sounds a lot like the glow channel (a color or texture that doesn't require light to show up), be careful not to use too strong a glow along with color, or things will look overexposed...

Could be... I used to think Shininess and Specular was the same thing, but someone said that Spec. and Highlight was the same and that Shininess was something else... That self-illunination doesn't look very much like glow, but have you tried it in the different channels? What gives the best results?

The best results are: Diffuse=Color Specular=Highlights Self-Ilumination=Shinnes Thanks, Sardtok. Im testing the parameters at my Curupira model, soon you Ill post here for you. ;-)
