heyas; (NOTE: im working in poser 4, here) okay, so im working on the eagle 2 expansion 1 (i thought i was done, actually).... i took the valueParm master dials out of the eagle 2 BODY and put them in the chest and tail, depending on whether they mastered the wings or the tail parts. everything was working fine. until trying to make the sucker work with poses. first, the daz pose file 'perched' has the BODY section in it, storing all the wing-folding valueParm numbers. now, eagle2X doesnt have any of those dials in the BODY. so what does the pose do? it makes the PBJTailSpread (TailSpread) value of 327 apply to my BodyPuff fbm dial. WHY????? the internal names, the external names, are all totally different! but i figure i'll throw the valueParms into the correct body parts, where i have them for the eagle2x, and that will solve all my problems. nope. if i put the valueParms into the body parts, poser ignores them when applying them to the eagle2x. WHY?????? i dunno, so i try to save a new pose with my eagle2x. oh, duh, poser doesnt save valueParm dials in poses. so internally, i made them targetGeom dials instead of valueParm. 'save with morphs,' and it works, right? mostly. this fool perched pose... now it will apply the WingsFold dial setting, which is actually a master dial for two other master dials in the chest (RWingFold and LWingFold). but it WON'T apply or change any values for the other master-master dials. that is, the both-wing-affecting dials, that master the chest master dials that do the right/left wing rotation mastering. WHY??????? im about to jump out the window, here! this thing was supposed to be finished at the end of february! argh!

Hi Bloodsong. I have missed your presence in this place, good to see you back, but sorry about the circumstances! This all sounds very strange, but then Poser is possessed by devils! As I don't have the DAZ Eagle I can't offer much in the way of help. As to a pose applying to a channel that is not mentioned in the pz2, that is not possible, but since it is apparently happening, you might try slaughtering a chicken at full moon and sprinkling it's blood over your HDD whilst reciting 'delta-add-delta-delta-add-delta' in a sinister tone ;(

heyas; yeah, it's not possible. it ain't broke. so i CANT fix it. so it stays messed up. i hate that. well i tried putting the master-master dials after the master dials in the pz2, but that didn't help. (figuring it was like a cascading dial order control or something, ya know?) but if i make them all targetGeoms... fer crying out loud, all it has to do is apply the k 0 value to the smeggin dial!!! in fact, that's all they had to do before.

okay, it is fixed. or, technically, re-done from scratch. i dunno what the big difference is, but since les asked... i decided to edify the rest of yas. they originally had a buncha master dials (for wings and tail) in the BODY. pose files dont save anything from the BODY. so they posed the eagle and saved the pose, then pasted the BODY channels in. all i did different was... well, first, i just moved the valueParms to the chest and tail instead of the BODY. then, ha-ha, i remembered (noticed) poser doesnt save valueparm dials in poses, either. it saves targetGeom dials, though, with the 'save morph' option. sooooooo.... i renamed the valueparm dials to targetgeom dials. then i loaded the eagle2x (mine), and applied the original pose -- it posed, no wing master dials were set. so i read the master dials from the pose file in cr2 edit, and just typed them in, in poser. saved the pose with morph channels, and presto. they all work. of course, they only work with the eagle 2x and not the eagle 2. poser funny sometimes.

I know for a fact evil lurks in Eagle 2, I don't think the lumps in my head from banging my head against the wall last December have gone down yet. The choice of single sided polygons on the wings drove me crazy as well. I'm glad to hear you accomplished what I thought was impossible...
