You can use Poser 4 figures in Poser 5. IMHO, Poser 5 is much better than Poser 4.

Yes you can use P4 stuff in P5. Agreed, P5 much better. Your going to love the material room once you learn it. That's like asking what's better, " a stone axe or British Steel." LOL.

Poser 5 is better than Poser 4 simply because of the material room...at least that's my opinion.

And the nestable Library folders and Setup Room and Python scripting and Dynamic Hair and Cloth (no so much for most people). :)

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

But Poser 6 is even better. The cloth room works a lot faster.
There are more lighting options. There are more rendering options.
With SR1 it is a lot more stable.

"But Poser 6 is even better." Yes, but pointless, Mallex asked about P5, that is what was purchased. I use the cloth room a lot for my clothing models. Helps to get a more of a natural look to them. Also helps to create morphs.

P6 is such a bore. Can't do my jog around the block waiting for a render. File sizes too small. Stick to P4

I like P4 too, I set up everything in it. I probably wouldn't buy it if I had already had P5 though, unless I was planning on making Poser Products. IMHO all Poser products should be P4 based, with P5/P6 stuff added as an extra, if desired, unless it is something (like dynamic clothing) that absolutely couldn't work in the older version.

I still love P4 - it's fast, renders well, and a real workhorse. I have P5 & P6 - and just bought the ProPack add on.

I still prefer propack, too. Because of the speed and it doesn`t need as much memory as poser 5.

P4 < PP < P5 < P6 ;)

Ideally, poser 6 is the best, but I was just saying if your computer isnt so fast and you dont have a huge amount of memory in it then poser 4 with propack is probably a better option for you.
