Subject: Cloth JP help needed.

Hello, made this leotard. Now, i've tried to fix the joints parm so it conforms properly to V3. Can someone with experience in JPs help me fix it, so i can share it with the commnunity? Note: I want to arrange it so the front & back rings don't get distorted when the rest bends(Is that possible?) Regards! Marcus

If you make the rings seperate groups then you can switch off bending for these groups and that is your problem fixed. If you don`t make them standard body part names then that should work.

That looks like a fun item. :) You might be able to get away with turning off bending for the abdomen group, although that could cause distortion on the straps with torso bends. It's going to have to be a compromise one way or the other in any case. I know xantor has made robots and knows more about jointing rigid figures than I do, but I'm not clear how you'd introduce the rings into the hierarchy. They're plumb in the middle of the abdomen group, and I don't think Poser would take kindly to having two abdomens to work with. 8) One group can't surround another, the joint system wouldnae take it, cap'n (and neither would the dilithium crystals).

English bob is right.

I would suggest making the part marked in red the abdomen and switching off bend though I am not sure that this will work, it is worth trying.

Well, my first try failed! "Dammit Jim! I'm a Doctor, not a Poser Wiz" LOL Indeed, EnglishBob! I thought about that. I also tried your second suggestion Xantor. Still having problems. But, my JPs are wrong somehow. It seems to slant to one side when it conforms. I did mirror the JPs data exactly. (Scratches head). I think, i'll redo the JPs from scratch. I might try a combianison of your ideas with "BodyHandles". Just need to dig the forums for the proper code... :-) Thanks for your help! Marcus

The slanting is a weirdness you see pop up frmo time to time. Add a ghost head back into your cr2 (and the neck if you removed it) and that should fix it. If not, add back in the shoulder and forearms as well.

Interesting Xena! I noticed that some vendors include a lot of 'Ghost' bodyparts in the cr2 of their cloth. And they seem to always conform the best. :-) Thanks for the tip! I'll try it again. Marcus

Thanks again Xena! By adding the Ghost Neck, it fixed my "Skewing" problem! I also realized something crucial: Always Double-Check which figure you're using as reference when "Cutting" the cloth. Yep! I had accidentally loaded the V1 obj when i cut it. LOL So, that explained why the JPs were off. ;-) But, i tried like a dozen variations to prevent the rings from distorting. No go! Xantor, you're idea was sound. But, it didn't pan out for this. Yes, i did name the Rings "Rings"... I assumed Boning in Poser would be easier. Nope! It took me 5 minutes to rig it in C4D & the Rings don't distort... :-) For now this baby will go as is. So, i'm now asking if someone will host it. It's 780k Later! Marcus
