I wrote a new Voice FAQ i wish to share which has a handy demo for all the major 16bit SAPI5 voices for sale (see link above). It has demos from AT&T, Cepstral, and NeoSpeech. It offers a quick way to sample the voices available for your Windows computer and in turn PoserSpeak.PoserSpeak turned 1.37 last night! Version 1.37 is ready to download.
Also, there's a new tool in version 1.37 worthy of jabber. A new controller called "Strength" allows you to slide your facial morphs from a mumble up to a shoutfest! Look in the Record tab under animating for the Strength slider. See the docs included with the upgrade for more info. If you own PoserSpeak this is a free upgrade, click your "About" tab and hit the "Check for Updates" button to download the newest version 1.37. Also note, i have not updated the Renderosity archive yet. I am saving the testers any hassle until version 1.4.
All of these enhancements were in one way or another suggestions from buyers. Please keep sending me your wishes and dreams for PoserSpeak 1.4. For the clay is warm and the music is ripe.
thanks for reading,
james

I guess a showcase post needs a link to the product afterall.Little_Dragon posted Tue, 14 June 2005 at 8:46 PM
Does Rhetorical Systems offer SAPI5-compliant voices? In my opinion, their speech engine has the most natural-sounding inflections.

I have emailed Rhetorical asking them, but I don't see one mention of the word SAPI. Also worthy of finding is InfoVox Heather. The 22k voice is really spectacular. http://www.acapela-group.com/demos/desktop.asp
