Hi everyone. This is my first day with Vue so I hope this isn't too much of a newbie question... I've created a red and white striped beach ball and saved it for later. Then I created a terrain, and Eco texture. For the population, I chose "object" and loaded my beach ball. However, when I populate, I don't get lots of red and white beach balls. I get lots of red balls, and lots of white balls. I've experimented with the various mapping modes before saving my beach ball, but nothing seems to work. Thanks for any info.

I guess that the problem is the World Standard Mapping setting - in Ecosystem material and/or in the for the Ecosystem used material. I did a little test and got a similar result as you described it. This should be set to Object Standard or Object Parametric. You don't have to edit your object loaded into the Ecosystem, you simply can edit the material used there. The second part of my screenshots show this.

Thanks wabe. I hadn't even found the material's tab yet. I hate being a newbie!

No problem - thats why i showed it to you. Here in Germany we sometimes say "even dwarves have started little". That is the intention of forums like this - to help each other!

Personally I always thought dwarves were born with beards and axes and sing: "Gold! gold! GOLD! Gold!" as soon as they are out... ;) Ah ya gotta love Terry Pratchett... I keep forgetting that items materials can be edited from that paelette! Thanks for reminding me :)
