Looks like someone hacked the forums on the 3D Commune and erased everyting pretty nasty stuff, here is a bit of what happened. ---/CopyPaste/----- "Horrible News for our ZBrush Forum and Tutorials Well thanks to a very malicious, un-thinking and non-caring person, our ZBrush forums and 3 years worth of tutorials are down the drain. :( I know the first thing you're going to say is "Where's the Back Up's?" Good question, the back up's for that forum is gone and so is the content. We know who this person is who did it and we are not going to let him get away. His movements were tracked and his ISP has been contacted. Anyone with more information please feel free to contact us here. Personal note from PusGhetty I just want to let everyone know that I will not give up moderating and teaching 3d here @ 3DCommune just because of this malicious person. Even though this was a huge blow to our community it will strengthen us in the end. We can't rebuild the Forum but we can start anew! Sincerely, Michael A. Melnik - a.k.a. PusGhetty"

...and hopefully this will never happen to Renderosity. I came here to look at tutorials and got sucked in, as it were. =) Stupid, insecure, malicious, idiotic, foolish people who just feel like this is the only way to get attention. They should all be put away for life in my book. =(

That really sucks... Wouldnt expect that to happen there as everyone is so Nice and Helpful....

That is really ugly thing to do. What is the point to hack the forum where people are coming to relax and learn something or someone the new things on the subject. Its not comercial site so he/she can brag to other (primitives) for hacking it. I hope that this forum will pass those kind of primitives.

Open your mind and share the knowledge!

Probably a sick f..k with an equally sick sence of humour. Apparently the asshole made some more damage I know that a number of posts vanished in other forums as well. Yeah, make them public, and add name, address and phonenumber on a large number of strange porn pages!

There are those that because they can, they do, mostly this type of behavior is from an insecure individual who is jealous of anyone who has more talent than they do, and takes it out on those who truely wish to learn, same type that trolls galleries...but don't be lulled into thinking it can't happen here, it can.......=|

Such sad and infantile behavior.

Pisses me off too. Similar thing happened on all EZboard based forums (I'm not sure if 3D Commune is one of 'em) and wiped out a lot of the Wings3D Official Discussion archives.

It's a shame about the ZBrush forum, and even moreso, that it happened to such a polite bunch of people.

What really sucks, is that we live in the year 2005, and the state of web technology is such, that we can't even protect against this sort of thing. Somethings got to change.

Chin-up 3DC.

I wanted to stop by and say Thank You to everyone here for your words of support. Losing Michael's work is a huge loss of information and Michael's generously-given time.

If anyone here has any of the 3D Commune ZBrush Forum threads saved, could you please contact any of the Mods or Admins at 3DC? You can site-mail me here or at 3DC (Arianod).

You can't keep talent like Michael's down, though. ZBrush will be back at 3DC, better than ever.

Thank you everyone for Posting your comments.

I would like to say who it is but I think the majority of you already know. For legal reasons I can not release the name but I will say that's it's already been typed into this forum.

Not intentionally but as part of another name of a forum that was hacked too.

Just look for it... it's pretty EASY to spot.

I also want to say that this is a horrible loss to not only 3DCommune but to it's members, staff and especially PusGhetty. Michael's work, time, tutorials, WIP's and much more were ultimately affected and lost.

If anyone has any information on this person please let us know.

Mark

That really sucks. The only other person I can bring to mind who did that sort of thing, was Hitler and his book burning. And I think of all the knowledge that was lost when the library at Alexandria burned. I wish I'd been a member of ZBrush now, I usually save everything I see... I suppose the wayback engine couldn't help in a case like this? (probably a dumb question, but then I dunno how wayback works anyway)

Yeah where's Sherman and Mr Peabody when you need them? It is indeed a horrible thing when people do this. Mark
