Well, I just installed me newly bought P6, loaded up Jessi and almost bust a gut laughing. Admittedly, the model isn't as outright rancid as Judy but JHFC, what on earth was the modeller taking when he/she made this? Last time I looked, elbows were somewhere around the waist, not halfway up the ribcage. Don't even get me started about the weight lifter deltoids. Morphs? Oh, my aching ribs. Ectomorph, Endomorph, Mesomorph. Wow, useful. I don't want to know if there's a third party morph pack available; the content should be useful out of the box and it ain't. Bad, bad CL/EF. Somehow I think this model is going to be consigned to a folder labelled "Not much use". The good news is, the app seems stable and usable so far.

Too funny. Yeah they droped the ball on her and you can't use the face room on the kids. Don't grasp anything, the hand on those figures explode. Most of the JP's are out of whack. The good news is, there are some good 3rd content to make her look good. RDNA's morph packs, some of the texture pack from here and there and you can get some good results. Don't blow her off just yet. She can be useful in her own unique way.

There seem to be quite a few people who like her enough to be putting lots of work into add-ons for her. I figured the only contribution I could make to improving her looks would be to make a boiler-suit and some wellies for her, and maybe a welder's helmet ;-)

I just bought her myself, I didn't know you had her out yet till I read hair thread. Can't wait to try her late tonight when I can get her DL. I hate this slow net connection but it's all I can get where I am.

Any specific advise you can give, Jim Burton?
I have got the RDNA head morph set but the body I have not figured out. Any non-renderer I have shown the figure to say "Alian" or "Insect". This figure leaves me quite baffled regarding CL knowledge of the female body. Judy was great bodily but I couldn't figure out what that configuration on the fron t of her hair was... I loaded the generic face room head to the figure as a base, it was a perfectly lovely female despited being "indeterminate" gender.
But seriously (Mr.?) Burton, any helpfull advise? Your render up there looks realy great. Makes me think I shouldn't de-install the woman from xenon-5Nebula ;)

Hey, No bad words about Jessi. She might not be very good for full body shots(And posing her right is a bit tough), but for facial closeups, she is really nice. As a matter of fact, a friend here owns Real_Jessi by Morris and his results are very very good. And its easier to use her morphs than V3, etc

Thanks momodot!Well, I spent about 6 weeks working het over. ;-)
I didn't do anything on her face (I'll leave that to others), and I left her overall shape intact, mostly I refined her details.
H'mm, lets see- smaller, more tapered hands, thinner, more tapered arms, refined her collarbones a bit, took out the weight-lifter shoulders.
I spent a lot of time working over her shoulder blades, that is one area of her body that was totally wrong. I spent a lot of time working on the rib cage bump under her breasts, which I thought way too pronounced. I refined her "6 pack" or stomach area, I like having that shape visable on females, but it is now rather different than it was. I have morphs that adjust this area as well as the rib cage detail, so you can vary it a bit as you like.
I actually increased her waist size a tad, even though it tends to look less, becaue of the reshaping. I reshaped her butt too, and the area at the small of het back.
Some of the biggest changes were in her legs, especially around her knees. Stock Jessi has sort of a pinched in insect-like knee, I tried to give her realistic ones.
I reshaped her feet, they were the exact opposite of her hands, rather too small for her body. I give her my ever popular high-heel feet, default is for a shoe with about a 4" heel, but I also gave her the ability to switch to flat feet, set by a pose. The pose switches in alternate mesh for the shins, feet and toes, plus different joint parameters, so each version is optimised for that kind of pose.
While I was working on her feet I did away with the indvidual toes (who is going to pose all those toe joints, anyway?), and gave her a "toes (4 toes) and "big toe" part, with an outer, ghost part for each. She also has a dial in the feet that bends the toes and big toes togeather. I think she actully has very pretty feet, incidently. ;-)
That was just changes in the mesh, I also recut most of her body parts for better bending, and installed Joint-Controlled-Morphs as required, namely at her collars, shoulders, elbows, thighs and knees. She has more JCM that any of the DAZ figures, and I thionk it works very well, you might want to look at the thread I started at at PoserPros on the Great Poser Bending Test ;-). I spent a lot of time setting up her bending, she isn't a copy of any other figure's setup, lots of new thinking in her.
H'mm, what else? I thought her head was way too small, like almost all Poser figures (haven't any of the modelers ever heard of the 8-heads high (actually 7 1/2 often) artistic convention? Why are all Poser people (excuse the expression) pinheads? I fixed that by scaing her head up, but then her upper head was way too large (it is already too large, stock), so I gave her a "upper head" part that can be scaled down (and even rotated) to fix that.
While I was doing ghost parts I gave her breast parts too, they can't be scaled but they can be moved up and down and side-side. Unlike V3, her breasts don't go up and down with her collar lift (I purposly left this out, it makes clothing very hard to fit), so her breasts can manully be adjusted, if desired, to simulate this.
I also added some morphs, but not many. I really wanted to make her a figure that a clothing maker can include ALL of her morphs in the clothing. I gave her a couple-three new breast morphs (plus she keeps most of her old ones), a butt morph, corset morph, barefoot (adjusts the arch in her high-heel feet), long fingernails, a couple others, not too many.
I don't think most of these changes can be done to stock Jessi, her joints are cut wrong for JCM, for example, so I basicly made a new figure out of her, just retaining what I could.
What is the cost? I retained the ability to take Jessi head morphs, but not any body morphs. She also takes Jessi textures. She can't really wear Jessi conforming clothing, as I also moved a lot of the joint centers around, to get stuff in the right place.
Oh, what is the COST? $4.95! Plus you need stock Jessi to unpack her.

Jim, any hope on getting support for her in PhilC's new Wardrobe Wizard? It might help dramatically, being that she can no longer take Jessi's default wardrobe (conforming). That is, assuming she's not supported there already. I haven't looked. :-)

Jim Burton, I have not found the Jessie figure at Content Paradise or anywhere else... can you point me more specifically please?
obm890 posted Mon, 20 June 2005 at 5:16 AM
Well before I delete her I'll certainly give the glamorous J pack a try. Good thinking glueing all her toes back together again, a zillion separate toe segments was truly daft.

Clarification: I mean your Glamorous Jessie figure obviously.

One of the things that I really don't like (or understand) with the Original Jessie is the way the foot bends well behind the toes - OUCH! It hurts just to look at it, and all of the poses with bent toes that come with P6 bend her foot behind the toes. Jim definitely fixed this problem.
FYI - hopefully before the end of the week, I'll have a free dynamic skirt (attached image - still needs some tweaking) and top posted for her. I had hoped to get it posted by last Saturday, but my jobs, and a bout with an intestinal bug, has slowed me down a bit.
