Hi, i just got my Poser 6 and its blowing me away :) (Compared to Poser 5). I have a question. HOW can i render a animation with a alphachannel (transparent Background) ? And Where can I find good BVH motion capture files for Poser 6? Thank you very much and have a nice day ;-)

HOW can i render a animation with a alphachannel (transparent Background) ?
Render to image sequence, using an image format that supports Poser's alpha channel (PNG, TIFF, PSD).
Render to AVI, using a video codec that supports Poser's alpha channel (Huffyuv, Lagarith). You'll need to configure both codecs to "Always suggest RGB for output", and with Huffy, at least, you'll need to enable the RGBA option.
Where can I find good BVH motion capture files for Poser 6?
You'll find a wide variety for sale here in the Marketplace, at DAZ 3D, and at Credo Interactive.
As far as free mo-cap is concerned, your mileage may vary. Most of these weren't designed specifically for Poser figures, and will usually require some tweaking after import:

Ethan, If you render out the animation as individual images, you can save them as tiff files, which I believe has an alpha channel. Unfortunately, you'd then have to do whatever postwork you're going to do on every frame... Can't help you with the BVH motion--I'm looking for some of those myself.

Thanks! I think i will render single frames and combine them in aftereffects. How do I render the char in poser without background?

Poser's usual grey "background" is an alphachannel. So.. just render and the alphachannel is there all by itself (if you, as L_D said, save the pics in a format that supports an alpha channel, of course)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
