Great stuff, but.... "Any derivative works based on this principal (sic) must further be free" I think you'll find it VERY difficult to enforce this.

HI thanks I have not put the other packs on my server yet because it runs my other websites(real Business) as well, and I don't want to kill my bandwidth. Unfortunately renderosity doesn't host free stuff anymore without the person giving it away , paying. Ahh remember the old days.So It cost me money either way , my server or rendo's
LOL I will some time soon though. Also Testing the waters to see if reception is good enough to warrant it.
Some of the light probes in the probe pack are actually directional or iris based without the iris , slick...:)
Oilscum , Your right LOL my point in putting that in , I'm a wise guy and too many look to make a buck off others without respect. And again I am paying to give my work away :)
but let that slide :) its off topic.
Again Thanks, and if you like throw a few comments on the gallery image so others may find this.
any questions please ask.
If you missed the link to the sample renders on the website I've attached the link to some.

Jrabbit

WOW so many good comments and each of you oustanding artist to !Here is a render other than balls and boxes. In the right bottom corner is the Iris key or keys used.
This render used 2 IBL light so 2 keys. I like it but if the glare is to bright for some on bottom you could reduce bottom on the back light key.
My gallery today I added another version of this pic. Keys on bottm corner so you can comp.
Please share some renders back :))))
I will put up a page of probes rathan than a dawnload in the next day or so. So you can just right click save as... The ones you are interested in.
Some gradiant Iris keys will be out with pack 2 still adding lots of stuff.
Thanks again.

jrabbit I had a look at your stones, I do love sparkling orbs. I guess this explains your interest in lighting to show thing off to their best advantage. Lovely 8) Catlin

Hi Catlin , Yes I have been involved in Gemstones and Lapidary for over 20 years so 3d, photography, lighting , and science all play a big roll in my work. Understanding reflection, refraction, I.R, radiosity, specular ect are so important to this feild. I made some light probes from gemstones as well as reflection maps on some older work. Anyway Thanks !

I'm studying for a degree in geology and geophysics so my interest in gems is partly scientific too. 8)
