I just came upon something. If I create box in Lightwave and naming the side's because thats all I want to have textured. Then I import this into Vue, double click the texture and apply the brick color and bump maps. Then I export back to Lightwave and end up with these huge brick's. Now, if I make the box in Vue and texture it, it exports fine to Lightwave. My problem is I would like to make the models in Lightwave, texture them in Vue using the named surfaces I made in Lightwave, then be able to export back to Lightwave for any geometry changes. This does not seem to work and renders Vue useless to me in my production flow. Can this be achived?

do i understand it right? You want to texture single faces of a cube in Vue. Not possible - sorry to say. AND, you haven't said which Vue version you use. If it is one of the Pro series (5 Studio or Infinite) you can do the following i think. Attach simple basic materials to each surface in Lightwave, bring that into Vue and change the materials to the ones that you want. Then make changes to the original lightwave object - Vue should then automatically recognise that there are changes made in the model and updates the geometry. AND will ask wether the original materials should be used or the ones that are modified in Vue. Let us know wether this works.
