Try downloading the scene again. I updated it to remove these weirds little triangles at the top of the glass and to smooth out the table cloth. the texture of the table cloth looks great by the way !

Ooops, I didn't read about the "upgrade" of the scene... my fault ;) Ok, I'll start over again, thanks agiel ;) PS: The texture of the table cloth should be a photo of a real wallpaper, the bump map helps to make the trick ;)

Wonder if one of those ripply "cathedral glass" materials might be modified as 'frost'. Would have to keep it very transparent though - quite a challenge and a good excuse for a bit of keen realworld observation. Those glossy magazine beer ads do great frosty glass.

Good job. I wonder would it possible to run the straw through uvmapper so the texture fits more accurate? I like the picture on the table. :-)
I also think it might be better if all the WIPs were on one thread. They could be organized threads where everyone's first WIP goes in one thread and then everyone 2nd WIP goes in another thread and so on. We could then see how all of us develop easier. Is that a good idea?

That table cloth is really, nice. Like that a lot.

lanaloe - I believe that would be confusing. I prefer to have everybody post wips in their own threads. There is no problem with posting multiple wips in the same thread to see how a particular scene evolves. However, if you look at the original announcement for this workshop, I am adding links to each wip thread to keep track of who is participating long after the 'wip threads' are buried with other forum news.

Excellent tablecloth, good job on the bumpmap!

Great tablecloth! With the straw - there's a common theme emerging that stripy straws are the thing. Are people using bitmaps or procedurals for this? I tried a procedural but failed lamentably. A bitmap works fine, though you have to play with the mapping to get it to fit correctly.

PS for spedler: the straw is bitmapped. The source is a 512x512 bitmap, with the upper area (512x256) filled with yellow and the lower in blue. Applied without traslation, sizing, etc ;)

The straw is great, think I liked the cloth in your first one better. I'd try less noise, the drips might show up better. Also might want to try a new thread for pic's don't think many go back after first viewing.

Please try to keep your WIPs in the same thread to show how your picture is evolving. There is currently a problem with the Views count on threads, so don't trust what the forum says.
