Hi,
I have finally finished a 3D model (Female). I was wondering if it would be better to draw a Facial texture from stitching reference photos or drawing one from scratch. I've been through a lot of tuts all over the net on this, and the final results of both are incredibly good(Results always are if the Artist is good, or else they suck whatever method you use)
..but I was wondering how the Pros do it. The textures provided with Apollo seem too good to be done all by hand(Atleast the skin), and Mec4Ds texure for the new female Neftis's making(In Product Showcase Forum) too seem incredible. So guys, how did ya do it? Well, I'm sure you drew 'em, but whats the "time / quality" tradeoff in using reference photos? And what about the bump map, do you guys paint that from scratch too(Coz I use bump maps 2X colur map and that would be a killer)?
Anton, Mec, Plz suggest!
