Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know that I am offering Amapi 4.15 for FREE download at In Depth Arts. Due to bandwidth issues though I am only allowing 60 downloads per day. If you would like to get your hands on a decent modelling app for the best price around swing by and pick it up! EricMoonbiter posted Wed, 14 February 2001 at 1:02 PM
Thank you. I have no clue how to use it, but I will figure it out tonight. Moonbiter

I'm afraid my firstborn's name is already spoken for, but I'll take naming the next one after you under consideration... (how long does it take for the Mac downloads to get the registration, or are you doing that manually?)

I am doing it manually but I am lightning fast :-) Eric

Not enough people like you around! Man I really appreciate this because I wasn't able to get it on the digit mag CD. I spoke to someone at Amapi though and he said it will be on the 3D World CD in the February issue, but I sure appreciate you letting us use your bandwidth to get this now! 8^) Thanks, Marque

Being in Germany, I have had no luck at all getting Amapi from any of the magazines which have had it on their cover disks recently. And I really tried! I was begging friends in Australia to get me a copy of PC Authority (and unfortunately that came to nought). So this comes as incredibly welcome news, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

About Amapi: The current version is 5.1 There is a v 6.0 coming in March if plans.... The development paths for Amapi and Carrara are slated to converge, if not merge. There is a good chance that v 6 will support OBJ files directly. The modeler is said to be as good as it gets with NURBS now. If this D/L gets you on the upgrade path, it can not be anything but a good deal.

Yes,RMWM, but at least this way we don't have to try to find and order a back issue, we at least get a chance to see it for ourselves. I have Lightwave, C4D, Animation Master, RDS and Carrara, oh and Truespace. But I never turn down looking at a free program on the off chance it may do something simpler and faster than the big guys.
