Subject: How to make lip gloss...

for V3. I'm working on a texture map, and need to know how get the lip gloss effect.

Do I have to use a creativity with Photoshop to achieve this and if so, how.

I do have Poser 6 and I have read in a Shader Node Tutorial that you can use the shader tree method, is there a way that I can do that as a MAT Pose say if I want to save it as a file of my own.

Some advice is appreicated.

Just set the Specular Color to white or light grey and play around with the Specular Value until you get the effect you like.

Yep, it's P5/P6. Yep, you can save it as a MAT. One thing to remember, the smaller the highlight value (Specular_Value), the more metallic the gloss will appear. It's also do-able in P4 although the names of the bits you set up are different. For the life of me I can't remember what they are called; it's been around 18 months since I even looked at P4.

I like to plug one of the specular nodes such as anisotropic to alternate_specular and just leave specular_color black. I get better and more controlled results that way. Then just set specular_value in the node to something I like.

It's also do-able in P4 although the names of the bits you set up are different. For the life of me I can't remember what they are called; it's been around 18 months since I even looked at P4.

I have found out what it's called: it's "Highlight" and "Highlight Size"... I remember doing some of that when I was with P4 also, so that's the one.

I created that effect using MAT Pose Edit 3, the only trouble I have is making the gloss effect come on or off when I apply it to a texture. That I'll try to figure out or hopefully someone will come up w/ an idea.
