I was never positive about this, but I'm a huge Sandra Bullock fan, and doesn't look like her lips, but hella looks like Julia Roberts lips. Julia Roberts' upper lip is actually bigger than her lower one, which is unique in the universe. With Sandra, it's all about the nose. With Juia, it's all about the lips. I'm no legal expert, but they do say that everyone has a twin. For example, I'm often confused with someone by the name of "Jennifer." Apparently she and I look very much alike. I've never seen her, but several strangers I've run into swear it!
Politicians are fair game. Celebrities, not so much. However, if you use an alternate name, there is nothing really "illegal" about it. However, I suspect that some celebrities would take offense if you used a morphed figure that looks like them despite it having a different name, and using it to advertise products.
Also, most "celebrity look-a-like" morphs aren't clones of the celebrity and quite often what one person sees in a morph so far as resemblance goes, another won't see it at all.

That's been debateable for years. As the law stand, 3d CGI meshes are open to wild disagreement as to who they ACTUALLY look like. If you CALL it after someone's name, they can sue you. If if looks like them, they can't do anything, because it might be someone else's face from another angle. If it looks like Minnie Driver, but has another name--it's perfectly fine because that mesh MIGHT be based off of someone else or an artistic interpretation (which can't be regulated.).

That's a good point. Some of the ones even listed in this thread barely look like their real-life counterparts (although the morphs are pretty) so I doubt the real-life folks would get too upset.
I can think of one character, however, which is extremely well-done and nearly a dead-ringer for the real person--mole, eye color, hair in promo, outfit and all.
I was just curious if that was even OK, especially since nearly all characters are sold with nude details. Not sure I'd be so happy about that if I were the celebrity.

You may interpret them as you like, though I was aiming at specific celebs while doing my work ;)
Please post the name of the celebrity the morph is supposed to resemble. The purpose of this thread was to identify celebrity morphs for those looking for a specific celebrity look-a-like. . :)
Ariah's should be all identified in the celebrities thread at DAZ (latest here). River Tam is Summer Glau (Terminator), though.

Oh, and I should add that Mira here at RMP is clearly Liv Tyler.

Oh well, if you really need my help... :)
River Tam = Summer Glau
Tracy = Ali Larter (Niki / Jessica / Tracy from Heroes)
Catherine = Evangeline Lilly
Faith = Eliza Dushkhu
Laurie = Silk Spectre from Watchmen ;) but she does look a lot like Lucy Lawless indeed.

*Who are those people? None of them expect Lucy Lawless (Xena?) rings a bell.
Maybe it's because I'm european, but I don't know any of them. Perhaps I'm watching the wrong TV-series.
I thought Catherine was Catherina Zeta Jones, but it seems I'm wrong.
best regards,
Bopper.

Kinda surprised you've never heard of Ali Larter. She's been a hot button for a while.
Summer Glau is perhaps best known from The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I haven't knowingly seen Evangeline Lilly for a long time... used to be in a TV series or two way back, but I haven't tracked what she's done lately. I don't know the other two... truthfully, I watch very little TV other than tennis anymore. But the IMDB site is always a good resource.

You aren't alone! The only one I recognized from the list is "Evangeline Lilly". Never heard of the others because I've never watched any of the shows they were in.

Summer Glau is actually probably better known for Firefly/Serenity than The Sarah Connor Chronicles (though I loved her in that too). Evengeline Lilly was on Lost wasn't she? That's what made her so popular anyway, I thought. Pretty girl, regardless.
Believable3D posted Sun, 20 September 2009 at 10:43 PM
Never heard of Firefly/Serenity, so there ya go. :)
Would have thought Evangeline would be too old to call a "girl" by now, but definitely pretty.

gasps Never heard of Firefly/Serenity? It's interesting, if you're into sci-fi at all. You should check it out. It was created by Joss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire fame.
"Girl" is an ingrained habit of mine. A woman who looks youngish is still a 'girl' to me until she starts looking 'old' which, to me, means wrinkles and gray hair :P
Okay, sorry! End of thread hijack.

That's the principle thrill of Poser for me. There are others, but that's primary- creating fantasy scenarios that crush reality like a bug. The legal nervousness muddles things hopelessly- endless confusing pseudonyms. A lot of totally wrong guesses here that are WAY off!!!
It is not possible to think the Penny Driver model is anyone but Penelope Cruise. Just to go by the name Driver is to be oriented totally in a verbal world and not trusting your sense of sight.

Quote - Penny Driver = Penelope Cruz without a doubt. It shares her unique features and she's a Spanish beauty.
I still don't see a resemblance.

Oops! The whole Penny Driver controversy had already been covered at the speed of light while I sat here typing slowly like a senior citizen. I have the new Michelle Pfeifer, which I really love. Can't remember the artist to credit.
Want List:
Elizabeth Taylor
Janet Leigh
Sandra Bullock
There is one at RDNA that I thought looked like Summer Glau, but people might disagree.
I'll try to think of the name or provide the link.
I like this topic.

I would think it would only be illegal if they were being sold using their full name. Just think how many action figures, drawing, and bobble heads etc. were have been created with the likeness of Elvis Presley. Most of that money is certainly not going back to his estate. Awhile back I released the Klaus head MIP for Michael 3 and there was really no mistaking who the face was fashioned after if you saw it.

Halle Berry, for those interested. Personally, I don't care for the whole celebrity thing, but looks like a nice "real" character.
