this is my family a few weeks ago. i was goofin' off trying to get everyone to smile. we've had so many crises going on and all been under a lot of stress. anyway, the picture's not that good, but it's one of my favs because we're all smiling!!!

anyway, i've had a nerve-wracking morning, but finally some good news!!! my mom came thru the surgery fine (took THREE hours longer than they thought) and seems to be doing great!!!!! She's in wonderful spirits...was actually able to walk UNASSISTED to the bathroom a few hours after surgery!!

For months now, she's been unable to walk in the morning without the use of a walker. and she's been in horrible pain. Anyway, surgery seems to have been successful!!! she will be pretty much bed-ridden for the next 6-8 weeks, only able to get up to go to the bathroom. her recovery will be slow but she should HOPEFULLY be able to lead a normal life after that!!!!!! Yipppppeeeeeee!!!!! i'm just soooooo incredibly thankful and relieved!!!!!! thanks so much guys for all your thoughts and prayers.

we still have another family crisis going on, but we're hoping and praying for the best. until then, one day at a time. :) Hugggsssss!!!

thanks everyone!!!!! just talked to mom. she gets to go home sometime today! YAY!!!!!!! Her surgeon says he doesn't think she'll need her walker anymore!!! Yipppeee!!!! :)

may i ask what she had done Sheila? you don't have to tell us if you don't want :] just glad she's doing better!!

cindy, she had a couple of ruptured discs in her back. they also found some pieces of bone that had broken off and were in there i think pressing on her sciatic nerve. thanks for nice thoughts and wishes guys! :)

sounds horribly painful, hopefully the surgery was a complete success & she'll be dancing the funky chicken at the next family reunion :] hugz

Ohhh I image that would be dreadfully painful. So glad she's now had surgery and on the road to recovery. Huge relief for you and your family. Hope the other crisis will be settled soon hugz
