I read once and I believe that if we don't have compassion for all even our enemies that the war is already lost. I hope people still believe in Love and not just selected Love. It easy to Love the ones who are good to us but harder to Love the other.

One essential element in Buddhism is to have compassion for all living beings, including one's enemies, animals, even oneself.

Just in case. Poserpros has a forum "The Chicken Coop", that doesn't get locked...just in case.

I kind of find self-love to be nice too... and I don't have to buy myself dinner first. ;)

"One essential element in Buddhism is to have compassion for all living beings, including one's enemies, animals, even oneself." That may be so, but they don't seem to have a problem beating the crap out of those that would do them harm. They invented Kung-fu afterall.

Looks like this ones heading for a lock-down too. LOL
Compassion and tolerance are two totally different things. We can have compassion for other human beings but cannot tolerate them trying to do us harm.
I love all people as human beings but will protect my family in any way necessary.
Allowing someone to kill me or my family because I love them makes no sense.
If I stand there and let some guy with a bomb and mixed up morals destroy me, that removes love from the planet that I could have shared with others.

I agree with some of the sentiments in this thread, but.. what the heck does it have to do with Poser? I'm starting to think that R'osity really, really needs a separate forum for off-topic stuff. Either that, or maybe zero-tolerance on OT posts. Or both.
KarenJ posted Fri, 08 July 2005 at 4:04 AM
OK. 2 things. 1. Please remember to title off-topic posts with OT in the title. And please don't go overboard with this. We loosened the OT rule because we wanted to allow members more of a sense of community, and to share information not directly Poser-related. That doesn't mean we want to see every other post as an OT. 2. It seems that whenever a terrorist act occurs, it is not possible for people to simply express their condolences without moving into the area of political/religious arguments and starting with the personal attacks. Therefore, I will have to ask people to refrain from posting about events like this. There are other sites where you can express your feelings, discuss with others, and get into a knock-down fight if that's what you want. This forum will NOT be one of those venues. That said, I'm locking this thread, and will lock any more on this or similar subjects. Sorry folks, but none of the staff here have time to "babysit" every thread of this nature and hand out the inevitable deletions, locks and warnings. Karen Poser Moderator
