Dr. Geep did a great timeline a month or two back. All the way from the original Poser to Poser 6. Possibly you could find it doing a forum search.

P2 interface was aweful. absolutle brutal but that is just in comparison. If you have P4 there is a hidden keystroke to toggle the old interface but I forget what it is.

Hold down "P" and then hit 2
To get back, hold down "P" and hit 3

I used to use the Poser 2 UI when I ran P4. Iliked it much better. I really hate artsy interfaces. Also I could actually read the P2 dials instead of "guessing" and I liked who the long columns of dials paged up and down instead of scroling. It was a little more difficult to run the lights but made me think about it more, but I loved how I could select everything on one floating pallet and I actually felt more in control of the camera. And not least, having the one pallet realy freed up screen realistate fo me... I realy miss the old Materials pulldown, I hate switching "Rooms". The libraries panel was great with thos buttons, well named "use" etc buttons, clear choice names, and it was so fast loading only the thumbnail selected. I still use it when I use P4 for quick work and to test new content. One of the first things I did with P6 was see if I could get the P2 UI up but I wasn't able to. I am looking for that python control panel I once saw somewhere. Man, the P2 interface rocked!

Poser 1 didn`t have clothes or animation. I preferred the older interface, too, but maybe not now because I am so used to the newer interface.
