I really cant see much difference here. I would probably start out with levels and lighten up the foreground a touch, you may have to use a layer mask so the background isn't effected. How! First copy the layer, make a quick selection, along the foreground ridge and around the top of the image is your selection, go to "Layer/Add Layer Mask/Hide Selection", this will allow you to edit the foreground only(make sure you select the image and not the mask once your done). Go to "Image/Adjustments/Levels", play around until your happy(keeping in mind you just want to make the foreground a little lighter). Once you have done this you can discard the layer mask. Next I would go to, Image/Adjustments/Hue-saturation, when the dialog box opens, at the top(Edit/master) change it to "green". Now tweak the saturation, this will give you brighter more vibrant greens(grass). Don't go overboard here just little tweaks. These are some basic steps toward Photo enhancing, you will need to play around a bit to get what you want. Oh! make sure your monitor is calibrated too. There's no point in doing this if your monitor is way out. Good luck! post your result so we can have a look. And don't rush!!! Michael.

OKay so I've been playing around and I've realised that I need to know a few things... Foreground - how do I determine what this is and how do I select it? Multiselecting as in when you can hold control and select more than one thing as a time and what tool do I use? The magic or box or lasso tool? How do I cange a selection to gray instead of the whole image? Maybe then I can play some more? All the tools are confusing right now coz I have no idea what they do... Tx for the help!

The foreground is the subject matter closest to you in your image, that would be the side of the hill in your image. To multi select with any of the tools you mentioned, hold down shift or, you can select the plus sign for the tool to add to the selection, its at the top on the left of the page. Not sure what you are saying here:How do I change a selection to gray instead of the whole image? If you want to select a part of the image, you do just that:]

The gray thing... I figured it out, I desaturated the colours... I'll try do the multi select thing and see what I get. About the foreground, I thought that was it, just making sure... :D Tx, will post something soon...

Closer to what you wanted?
Sans2012 posted Thu, 14 July 2005 at 7:24 AM
Hmm, its about what your happy with my friend:] Its your image. Did you say desaturate? that normaly sucks the colour out:/ I'd say you have the overall brightness even enough. Did you use sharpen? It looks a little over sharp, maybe its the compression from the JPEG? What I would work on though is the colour, a little green for that grass should do it. If you wanted to go all out, replace the sky too. Like your presentaion BTW.

Hey that's not mine but nice fiddling dreamer, I would think it's a bit sharp too... How would one replace the sky? Coz stacks of my photo's have this white dull poluted sky... I did what you suggested about the green and it really doesn't make a huge dif unless I'm doing it wrong...

LOL! I didn't realize that wasn't your work PeeWee05:) Select the sky delete it and then replace it with a sky you like. Keep in mind that it still needs to be constant with the mood/weather of the image your changing. To select it, magic wand is a good place to start if your not familiar with any other techniques. If the green isn't changing you may be doing something wrong. Just read over it again and see if you followed the instruction.

I was just curious what the image looked like. So I had to play with it a tad.
