im a newbie to poser and have been through 'poser revealed' which proved very helpful, but im stuck on somthing and would appreciate any help. When i render a still picture the quality is amazing, but when i make a movie with animation, the quality seems to be really pixelated and poor despite using the firefly renderer and putting the quality settings to maximum. Please help!

It is most likely the video compression setting you are using. The default is not great. Try selecting full frames - uncompressed from the box that pops up just before you render - just as a test. Then play around with the diferent codecs and settings to find one that works good. For FINAL ANIMATIONS you should render as sequencial still images and assemble them in some kind of video editing program, that way if you want to make a change to a small section, or Poser crashes half way through - you don't have to re-render all. I use the Microsoft MPEG 4 codecs which you can find at http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ASF_Codec They're fast and compact and the video quality is great. I've dumped files using this codec at a 1500 rate only and they've compressed to DV/DVD without any noticable loss. There are also some lossless codecs that are great too - check out this one at http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Alparysoft_Lossless_Video_Codec. There are other codecs for you to consider at http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=6#6. Tracy
