just curious...well, with the Simon Sez and showing our kids, our nieces and nephews, etc., it made me wonder about your children. Are you kids into photography like you guys? Do they have cameras? Do you teach them? Do they go on photo shoots with you? what about your nieces and nephews and other children around you who are a part of your life. i'm just curious. Joe, i seem to recall you posting a pic your little girl took. Is she still taking pics? i love to see childrens' artwork...always have. anyway, i'd like to share this if no one minds. my niece, Jessie, sent me this this picture she took of herself. Guys, basically the ONLY the she has been interested in is video games. The first day of our vacation she said she HATED to be photographed. I told her she would LOVE it when i took pics of her!!! :) She wanted to know how she did. she asked me if i wanted to see more...i said OF COURSE!!!! I'm gonna encourage her!!! i'm just thrilled she's interested!!!! I'm soooooo happy!!!!!!! I hope i have given her the BUG!!!!!!!!!!! she said it was ok to show you guys her very first picture!!! :) I'm so proud of her!!!!!!!! thanks for looking!

No, no, no and no, but my brother has just bought his first digital. Olympus EOS 300 I think he said it is with two lenses.

well i don't have any children being only eighteen and all but my parents are most definitely NOT into photography particularly my father who once, quite a while back, told me that i wasn't allowed to take any photographs unless it was absolutely necessary (whatever he meant by that) he isn't much into art or creative expression of any kind not sure why probably thinks it distracts me from my work but anyway i've left school now

My daughter loves her camera. She had 3 or 4 films to use on holiday, and we tried to let her take pictures of whatever she wanted, after all its her camera. It was hysterical at the pool, she used half a roll of film taking shots of the surface of the water, before I just had to point her in another direction. She told me she loved the water too...lol. P.S. her pictures of the grand canal were quite impressive for a four year old.

Well Shelia seeing as you asked. My father took absolutely gorgeous landscape images, and my mother loves to draw. And I kind of followed in dad's footsteps with the photography, but I also like to draw. And then there is my youngest son (12), he too likes to draw. He has a gallery here. My oldest son (14) could care less about photography. It would be cool if at least one of my sons passes on this artistic gene to his children. Here is an image of Austin, taken by me of course. I think he is concentrating really hard here! Oh yeah, almost forgot! Austin has a 35mm camera and use of an 8 megapixel digital. He shoots right along with me at these weddings, and honestly does an excellent job! Maybe I could entice him to post some images from the last wedding that we did later on this evening if you were interested. Brenda :)

This got me thinking, I don't have any shots of my Dad shooting. He's the one that got me started. I will remember to catch him with his camera(s) next time we visit. An interest in photography is a great gift to pass along. It opens eyes, preserves our history and tells so many stories. "Way to go" all you guys and gals who encourage others to capture the snapshot of a moment in time. J

I don't have any kids and neither of my parents are into photography. I do know that my grandfather (on my dads side) apparently had the profession of photographer when he was younger. Unfortunately he died when my dad was 11 so never knew him and don't know much about him. I think it's fantastic that there's so many of your children who are so keen to learn photography. Hope they keep at it!!

Hey Sheila! sorry for the delayed response! My daughter has picked up my old camera a few times! Its starting to "act up" a bit ....so its hit or miss (when it works!) Awhile back she did a li'l photoshoot with her bears. Might invest in one of them kid cams for her since she DOES show an interest! Joe
