Hi all, My daughter Samantha had a serious op a couple of days ago and I'm off to see her on Tuesday - may be gone a while, and although I'm taking my laptop I don't know how much chance I'll have of popping into R'osity or my email. So forgive me if I take a while replying to stuff. (Posted here and Wings as I go to these two places the most.) Fran

I've spoken to her on the "Patientline" phone and she sounds pretty much like her usual self, but tires easily and sometimes sounds a bit dopy - not surprising on morphine! She was allowed up yesterday and walked to a chair and back to bed etc, she also managed a sit-down shower today - said it felt odd with the water trickling over all her tubes! I'm afraid I may have hurt her, as something I said to her on the phone today made her laugh, an odd sound when it hurts to laugh. But basically she sounds pretty cheerful - still, I can't wait to see her on Tuesday. Thanks everyone for all your good wishes. Much appreciated. Fran

I think it's better to laugh and hurt because of it than to not laugh and hurt anyway!

Well she was told to cough, I guess laughing can't hurt much more than that, eh?
