you'd think the paper/photographer would have notified you before publishing it! especially when your kids are involved... I would do my best to find a copy & ask the paper if this normal practice... you should be able to email this shot to the paper to help identify the issue...

Good luck finding the proper paper and yes, wow, what a suprise. And you had the evidence there all along. You never do know, eh?

WOW!!! How cool is that!!! What a surprise that must have been. Agree totally with Cindy though, thats no way for a paper to behave. PADDLE THEM!!! #:O)
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

well he should be simple to track down you have him on film...taking the shot..try asking the woman which paper or go to the local library and go through the local paper archives on the date it was displayed...they should have a c'puterised record.. how surreal ...doesnt sound like a professional media set up to me... lm afraid l would be furious if a candid shot of my daughter was to appear in the local newspaper with out my knowledge.. if it was inconnection with school out side club or achievements or organized event then different... l dont even show her on the net a policy l have until..(( as shes at a vulnerable age 15 almost 16)) .. once shes 16 l will ask sarahs permission

I must say that to take candid shots of people in the streets is my fav past time! The thing is, I can't ask them all permission to post the shots cos there's always people in the background and I have no idea how to contact them! I actually started a serie called the "people of London" and, of course, none of them know about it! So I was thinking about making a call, like, "If u recognize urself or someone u know on these shots plz, contact me at bla bla bla!". Think it's a good idea?? Maybe u could try that Kim! Make a call in some papers to try to find that photographer! ;)

Thats funny. When we were at the Rodeo I took a picture of our local photographer because he has this huge freaking zoom and I plan on begging for one in the future. Anyway, two days later there was a pic of me and my son sitting in the grand stands. He must have taken it right before or after I took his. The caption was just about how many spectators there were. I don't know if rules are different for the press as there are people/kids in our paper all the time without their names. I know that if we enter a competition around here and the shot is of a person, we have to have a release unless they are family.

l adore candid shots of people and often shot off photo's of people just going about thier business.... just strict rules when it comes to children and other peoples children.. Guess its my media roots that makes me over cautious. And too me the guy from the media/ local rag doesnt sound professional, with out asking the consent of the parents/ parent..guardian. its normal practise in the uk.. also gives them protection legally..and then gives you the opportunity to buy a portrait also.. etc... Any way glad your pleased.. must be a special moment :)..)))

Looks like he got you. Playing a little Photo tag I see.

From the photographer's pov he gets the backs of the children's heads and your face is covered with a camera... at the moment of your picture. He might not have thought that anybody was identifiable.

the computer guy said 500 min to restore them Did you say that he said $500 minimum to recover the files? That sounds a little high. Google and I found several firms that do HDD recovery, but estimated cost was not available on any of the web sites that I viewed. Let me know if you want some company names so that you price compare for a better estimate. MGD
