Hi Folks! Need help as to how you creat a thumb foe posting in the gallery, pardon this old mans stupidity, but you only state as to size constraints, not how to create one this is my final hurdle.Wabe was kind enough to give me this advise,on my first posting,as I do want to share my work with you all. I have all my Vue images in a special folder in PSP 7 Down sized to JPEG For uploading, would this creat a problem ? any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated,Thanx

Well you could make them in PSP7, just resize the image to the thumnail dimensions, or as I do, use the freeware program 'Easy Thumbnails' available at http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/

Can PSP7 do batch conversions with resize? In PSP 9, you can make scripts, so making one ot resize images to say 200 in width constrained proportions, would do it:) Thumbs just have to be within a set size, think maximum is 200x200 pixels and 15kilobytes here on the galleries, so just resize Image, constrain it so it keeps in proportion, maximum size of 200 on longest domnesion, save as jpg, check file size, redo with different jpg settigns if to poor in quality, or too large in file size. Kee thumbs in seperate folder, saves hassle :)

i just resize in Photoshop and then "save for web". There you can define in what file size you want to have the result. I normally do 14KB for the thumbs, 300KB for the big ones.

With psp you got it made. Several ways to do it. Just use resize, insure you have lock aspect ratio checked. That will make sure you don't get a warped thumbnail. Can also slect a small portion of your large pic. Most do that so you don't see it all, just a hint to draw people in to look more. Then crop to selection. Resize if needed to meet max sizing. RESAVE as nameTHUMB make sure you change the name so you don't over write your master file. (very important)
