I got this problem recently when I import a Poser character with a calculated simulation, the simulation bounces of, as it where at frame 1.

I use Poser 5 for Mac, so I thought it might help if I upgraded to P6 for the PC, since P5 is so much slower on the Mac, but that did not help.

Has anyone experienced this? Maybe its Poser for Mac. On PC, P6 is working fine for this task, but I get rendering failure in C4 upon loading a Poser character. I want to ask before I have to spend one week on troubleshooting.

Poser 6 importing isn't supported yet in Carrara.

Can you describe your process a litte more? Dynamic imports has always worked for me in Poser 5. But sometimes, how you set up the file in Poser makes a big difference.

I think I found some of the error. I copied one character as "Save as" in the same folder. When the other copies/instances, what ever, share the same .dyn files, there is something messing up the simulation so it bounces off.

I took the other files in their own folder, opened it, cleared the simulation, and made a new simulation, where it wrote new .dyn files in that folder.

But, I have this nightmare with textures that are applied in Poser. I always have to find them when I load Poser file in C4. I get both dialog to find them manually and C4 dialog that says it can't locate... file.

I have upgraded my system harddrive and I could just copy my backup Poser app. and it worked. Could this have something to do with it?
I will reinstall it now anyway. A bug on the machine is a bug on my brain.

Hi Snekkis, Sorry for the delay in getting back. Yes, shared .dyn files is a receipe for problems - found that out myself on one assignment. The only problems I've had with textures is on older Poser figures where it asks for hair textures over and over - even after you've located it. (after finding it just select the option to 'cancel' on the instance and it wil be fine) Ocassionally, it's also been a problem with add-on content when the creators specify non-standard places for their textures to be stored. It's about an 80/20 split for me. Transposer automatically finds the textures 80% of the time and I get to do it the rest of the time. Mark

Thanks Mark!

Good to know. I have been using Michael 1 and I will try something else.
