Hello again!

Just thought we'd give you another update on the head morph/texture project. This head was morphed from DAZ3D's Michael 3.0 character, and then textured using photo-references. This was all done in Blacksmith3D.

We're still working through the final stages of the texturing, but this head will soon be released for free!

For more information on this sort of project using Blacksmith3D, check out this tutorial.

Cool... Can the texture be used on the default M3 or just this figure?

This figure that Matt is working on is Michael 3.0, with the morph and texture being created in Blacksmith3D-Suite 2.0.

The good: It doesn't look like Dan Farr. The not-so-good: Judging by the middle render, there's something seriously wrong with the skull. Cheekbones are far too sunken, and the face appears to be sloping inward towards the bottom -- try to sketch the underlying skull and you'll see what I mean -- and it looks (could be wrong) like the lips are protruding in an exaggerated way to compensate. Remember, the mouth is a circular strip of muscle held relatively flat against the skull until you actually purse your lips. A jaw set that far back into the throat wouldn't be that wide or square. Draw it back out, perhaps?

Actually, this head was morphed to match a photo reference. The actual guy is a little strange looking too! However, we're not going to follow that guide exactly, and will probably take a few liberties to adjust the head morph.
