Cool. Thanks for that. The rapidshare site/system is a bit odd - but it works if your patient.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

You can use a file sharing program to share that file. I know file sharing programs aren't a big hit on this forum and I understand why; because so many use those programs for illegal means. However they are very useful if you are trying to transfer large files when email and file transfer over ICQ or MSN doesn't work. In those programs you simply put the file into a folder, share the folder in the program and send the ed2k link of the file to the person(s). All they do is open their eMule or eDonkey program and paste the link and it automatically downloads from you. Of course you have to be online in the program for them to download from you, and those who download from you have to have the program. Personally I think those programs have been given a very bad reputation due to the nature that most people use them for, but they are not the bane of all evil either. And can be extremely useful for situations such as this. Now whether Renderosity would be ok with you posting an ed2k link to a file is another thing. Personally I don't see it being any different than uploading the file to a website and people downloading it from there. The only difference would be that instead of downloading it from a website, they would be downloading it directly from your computer.

You could probably get someone else to host the file at least temporarily. I didn`t get the file early enough. :(

Mechanismo posted Sun, 24 July 2005 at 11:40 AM

its still there.. :) you have to click 'free' at the bottom , then wait about 20 seconds :)

Good advice - do not use download accelerators :). With DAP I had "File no found", and without I'm d/l-ing now at 70 kb/s. And yes, you have to click "Free" at the bottom of weird table comparing free and premium accounts (it sucks, but at least works).
A nice idea to share things like that is using YouSendIt.com - link is valid for week only or is limited for 100 downloads (whichever ends up faster), but does not require additional thinking from user ;)
Of course, thanks for the collection. Interesting stuff. Just finished downloading and I'm really impressed. I love your wings, one just can't have too many scary-looking wings :)

Everyone in the UK who has NTL cable (and maybe dialup as well) is going through the same proxy.

Why not see if someone else can host it for you, www.planit3d.com for instance.

Mechanismo posted Sun, 24 July 2005 at 1:00 PM

okays ..well ill try and find a better place to host it..... my bad... :)

Very nice, thanks Mech. Xantor, try this: clear your cache, toss your cookies and reload the page. It should work, I've had that experience quite a few times on rapidshare.

Before I make an offer.... I have a ton of free space on my website, but my site is primarily a download site for tubes. I get a fairly large number of visitors and can't afford to use up my bandwidth and have my site go down until it replenishes again. I have a monthly bandwidth limit of 25 gigs, is that a lot?

Well Rapidshare worked well with about 660 kByte/s but in the ground prop, there is a little mistake, there is a reference to a texture: Peasants-Throneground-texture2.jpg that is not included.

damn... sorry about that... thought i had fixed that.... sorry...

Mechanismo posted Mon, 25 July 2005 at 3:12 AM

oh i found the ground mistake... there was a detached node with that texture even though its not being used..it still wants it.... but you can still use this.. ''RuntimeTexturesorganic-bitsorganic-ground-tex.jpg'' same image... hope that helps..

jwiest posted Tue, 26 July 2005 at 1:57 PM

I get a message that the file has been deleted by the uploader. Is it still there or not? If you could e-mail it to me, that'd be great. jwiest at frontiernet.net
