Subject: Tut's On Volumetric Lighting and Atmosphere?

I read the tut at daz and one here at ros but even though they look like they are made for dummies they didn't work for me. Everything gets plain white. Can someone direct me to another tutorial please? I'm using p6

I like the one at Nerd3d.com, "Poser 5 Atmosphere Effects." It's for Poser 5, but should work in P6, too. If everything's all white, you need to adjust your lights. Nerd's tutorial explains it.

I know the white light of death all too well, trying to get the volumetrics working in my images. I found the settings for atmosphere from the tut at DAZ was the culprit. The volume density in the DAZ one is either for P5 or mis-typed, it must be set really small, I use anything from 0.002 and 1.00. The step size and volume noise should be kept quite small as well. Have a look at my settings here or in the "Tut Area", hope this all helps. Oh and volumes won't show up if you render in Poser4 render engine and if there is no object behind the light. A background image is not enough to show the atmosphere.

The other important things is how many lights your are using, and also their intensity. It is very hard to get exactly what you want. You should try with different values and render with very low quality.

I'm starting with one light and are using a prop as bg, the one from radiance pro lights from Danea. Thanks to your help it's not all white anymore, but I still have a long way to go.
