Does anyone know if the list of Wacros in the Materials room is editable so that I could replace one of the listed Wacros there with one of my own? The issue comes up because I have a User-Defined Wacro which I use. Unfortunately I can't Shift-Click my Wacro from my list and have it apply to all the materials on my figure. Is this a Poser 6 bug? I'm using the Mac OS X version so maybe a PC user is having better luck? One option I'm considering is renaming my Wacro to one of the listed Wacros I don't intend on using. But that seems less elegant than having my own Wacro button. Any helpful replies would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot add any Wacros to mainWacros.py There cannot be more than 10 buttons. Don't know why the shift click does not work with your own wacro. To answer that, I don't know enough about the inner workings of python, sorry.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

There is a VERY cool utility in developement that will allow you to create partial materials, and copy them to various combination of materials available, even with something like a wildcard search. In a nutshell, it'll be like making unlimited wacros, because it can load saved ones. The author is very close to completing it, and I haven't found a bug in it yet.

That sounds awesome Gareee. Any idea when this will be released? Will it be available here?

I suspect it'll be at Daz, but other stores have been talked by the author. I've been bugging him to add some much needed features I wanted, and I think he's probably 95% done with the main stuff now.. just final double checking, and help n ad type stuff to go. One of the neat things, is you can save a partial materil, and add that to existing materials! So I can for instance, add alt specular ansitropic, save just that, and then select all materials with skin in thier names, and then add the alt specualar anisitropic to all those materials with one click! Or I can tweak a character with a large number of mat zones texture by tweaking just one zone, copying that, and then pasting it to all mat zones with the search fild set for "skin". I was thinking it would also come in handy for mat settings like the x-ray setting's we've seen. Lotsa nice new P5/P6 specific utility developement occurring, and that means the poser utility is gaining support, and growing!

Gareee - That sounds awesome! I found an excellent toon alternative which allows for more than the two colors in the Toon material setting. What I do is select the nodes I need and copy and paste them to every material for the figure. This of course is a major pain (and one reason I haven't posted many pictures in this style!). This product sounds like it will greatly improve that workflow! Any idea what the program will be called? I'd hate to be fooled by a cheap imitation...

He's still toying with names. I'll post the final name here when he makes up his mind. I suggested Node Runner, but that's because I'm a old Lode Runner game fan. Plus I'm a blade runner fan.

I like Node Runner. It's a nice pun for all the reasons you mention. I'm looking forward to the announcement for this one. It sounds very useful.

One thing pretty cool, is he has a smart skin copy feature.. you can copy the current texture setting and the utility will look for other materials with "skin" in the name, and replace them all! You can also creat material "groups", and then copy material setting to the entire group. These are a LOT of features I wished would hav ealready been in P6 when it was released, but the make character tweaking and devlopement SO much easier! You can also save mat pose files, right from within poser, and it'll even allow you to search for a png you want for it's thumbnail.

For the MAT pose files, will it allow you to save for specific body parts (like eyeballs)?

Gareee posted Thu, 28 July 2005 at 11:56 AM

Yeah, I beleive it will. I'll have to test that.

Do you know if this package will be PC only? I imagine it will be, but I just wanted to check...

Gareee posted Sat, 30 July 2005 at 10:17 PM

Yeah for now.. he wants to make it for the Mac as well, but evidently there are some Mac specific python issues he needs to work around. I just got Release candidate 1 tonight! ;)
