when i save files or export images from poser for some reasons it decides that i want to save them inside random files in my runtime - usually a differnt 1 every time. is it just me cos its a pain in the a**e finding the folder i actually want stuff saved in every time.

That's something I really wish they would fix.

I don't think it's really random. Instead, Poser remembers the last folder accessed, even if it's for something like textures called during a render, or thumbnails viewed in the library.

Ah, but it's an old bug. And CL/EF has a policy about not fixing existing bugs ;-) During the P5 "public beta" we actually got Larry W to personally fix one of these - in the Morph Load file dialog - by keeping the dialog open for the next load (more of a workaround than a fix admittedly). But such corporate policy transgressions cannot go unchecked, even when the CTO makes them, so this change had to be removed from P6!

One solution could be to always use one folder, and within that home folder, have shorcuts to the other folders that you use.

That's not a solution. It's not just folders you actively access. It's folders Poser accesses, when it's doing a render or showing you thumbnails in your library. For example, I just looked at some of the Sams3D items in my library. I didn't actually click on anything, just looked at the thumbnails in my library. Now Poser wants to save my image to the Sams3D folder in my runtime.
