Subject: When I dare open the blinds....

in my house, the couch sits right in front of the window in the living room. I don't open the curtains or the blinds very often and this is why... Missy Anne and Maggie Mae have to watch the house, and everyone that passes the house and every dog that is walked by the house and every squirrel that climbs the tree next to the house. The two of them together own the neighborhood. After a while the barking and whining tends to grate on my nerves, so I shut the blinds again. Maggie's image didn't come out as well as Missy's did, Missy is a camera ham!

Kiki can't believe mom opened the blinds so he comes to investigate too!

Then there is Boomer... To heck with peering out through a hole, he'll just make his own hole!

Nilla posted Thu, 28 July 2005 at 10:31 PM

Boomer again, short for Boomerang by the way... When I leave the cutains open and the blinds closed I always wondered why they are always in a disarray when I get home! *sigh*

If she could get out there she would surely be skateboarding with the boys out front...

In my house you don't pick up the leash unless you are going to take Missy for a walk, she goes bananas! You also spell the words "ride" "car" and "go". I think she is learning to spell...

Missy and Maggie both remind me of the RCA dog, when you talk to them they tilt their little heads...

Nilla posted Thu, 28 July 2005 at 10:47 PM

Ah yes that pesky dog finally left! All four of them take turns sleeping on the back of the couch, and looking out the window. Having a Jack Russell can be summed up as having a cat-dog. This is really my first attempt at pet portraits. Brenda :)

In case you all were interested, Kiki and Boomer were both rescued feral cats as kittens. Boomer is only three or four months old. Brenda :)

AAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! These shots are soooooooooooo sweet and adorable!!!! Especially love the ones in number 3 and 4. Beautiful series Brenda!!! #:O)

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Nice shots! They turned out quite well. (as to cats and blinds...well, it didn't take ours long to figure out she could prop her left foot on the ledge of the window and similar to a human, use her right foot to pull down the mini-blinds on the edges and hold them there while she looks out. Sigh....what's an owner to do?)

Lovely shots - especially like the first and fourth ones :)

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

Those are sooooooooooooo cute - thanx for sharing... Why not leave those blinds open while they are "home alone", though?

Totally irresistible!!!! #1, #3 and #4 are my definite favs!!

Nilla posted Fri, 29 July 2005 at 6:13 PM

Thank you all! I also liked numbers one, four and six because of their sharpness. I couldn't resist some of the others because of their poses! LOL! These were all taken in "available light" from the afternoon sun that came in.

In the heat of the summer I do leave the blinds closed because it would only increase the electric bill as the A/C runs most of the day now as it is. Normally the blinds and the curtains are closed during the day in the hot summer months, but I do let them have their window when it is cooler. So I can only imagine the noises that comes from my house during the day, when I am not here.

Brenda :)
