Hi, I am working on a scene for the animation the Realm and am about to render a few shot's. This shot here is clearly not ready for rendering but show's the two different rendering methods I may use. Both have no post work and are done in Poser 4. I was hoping you could give some helpfull comments on deciding which method is better and how I could improve this scene. Thanks.JKeller posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 12:02 PM
I like the second one the best. The first one, due to the blurring, looks like there's some atmospheric conditions going on. Which is cool if you're going for a bleary, wintery look. Even if you are, I'd say go for the 2nd render and handle atmosphere in your post work or by using "camera gells" where you can control it to your specifications.

I agree with JKeller. The top image looks like there's a fog or haze layer applied. And the bottom looks crisper. Depending on what look you're going for will determine which one is the better render. Also try rendering sections the scene at 300 dpi and larger pixel with and height so you can see more detail and how the blur is trully affecting the image. The images above are small and hard to really tell that a blur has been applied, it looks more like an atmospheric filter than a blur. James
