Stick wings on it (no pun intended) and you've got a Balrog!

Yep RC 1 of DAZSTUDIO released and wanting to be downloaded...

foleypro posted Sat, 06 August 2005 at 1:25 AM

BTW nice pose.. With a Release of an SDK for DAZSTUDIO wouldnt it Be great that one would be Particals or a Weather plugin or a Fluid Plugin OR what about Animation Plugin to Branch between Bryce and DS with full Mocap and BVH support...That would mean Every Poser animation could be Brought into BRYCE for rendering with a Plugin for renderman Compliant LIKE DS already is...Ahhhh we can only Dream... OHHHH Wait we were telling Folks that there will be some Plugins Built for DazStudio after it goes 1.0... And yes it still will be Freeeeeeeeeee... Just Pay for the Plugins you want.... I Cant wait... Heard of some that were in developement my mouth salivated and then I remember that we the community has to take a stand with DAZ and help make 6 a Reality....Dont straddle the Fence any Longer help by getting Bryce for $99 for New users or $79 for Pevious Buyers or $59 For Students...And Yes Folks Bryce 5.5 comes with DS and yes some Free content and you can Go back and forth between Bryce and DS to Pose so Easy that it Hurts...

Sorry, foleypro... I'm all for DAZ on Bryce6, and hope they do a really good job on it, but I'm not going to pay an arm and a leg for a mostly worthless upgrade, containing a bunch of new features that I won't ever really use and a bug list as long as my arm. If D|S really ever does do animations to Bryce, I might consider it (although upgrading to Bryce6 should do the same things, with all the new features). I'm afraid DAZ is on their own, as far as I'm concerned. Although I'm convinced that if they were to decide to sell my textures, they'd make a tidy profit on those. =P

Arm and Leg for a WORTHLESS upgrade...? Hmmmmmm...

foleypro posted Sat, 06 August 2005 at 9:58 AM

Hmmmm.... Seems that almost everybody that I was demostrating to at Siggraph wanted the Upgrade and the Artists and schools that came by Really were going to look into the Purchases of Bryce... Bottom line is folks without Monetary Support for Bryce there might NOT be Future Versions of Bryce.... They can build a Whole Program around DazStudio if they needed to...

Thanks Pakled, that creature will give me nightmares, lol. Nice work!

uh..not to bring everyone too far down, but what I did was
Import the demon (installed in Poser) into Daz 3d
Immediately import it into Bryce
Render
no posing, just 1 light ('cause the skin's too dark to see in front, and to make sure the texturing was working), and default everything..;)
Just thought it would be handy, I'm not that experienced with it yet. Since it's free, I figured it might save a step or two..
