I was fooling around with Vue today, mainly editing some plants, and I made a neat discovery. You can make a mixed material out of the leaf mats. For it to work correctly you can only choose the "color and lighting" blend option in the materials editor or the tree comes out looking all kinds of funky. I combined leaf mats from the Cornucopia Maples with mats from the maples that came with Vue for some really cool looking trees. I also copied the pine needle mat from the Cornucopia conifers and applied that to the Vue Fir tree. What a difference!!!! It's a whole new tree!!! Check out the series of attached pics:

Give it a try and see what you come up with. I'm going to be posting a few of these in the free stuff section so keep a look out.

I think the tree in the first picture looks very unnatural, but why not after all, but the 2 others look really good, your fir tree is awesome! Thanks for the tip.

heyas; oh, i think the first one looks the most realistic. no tree is a single colour throughout all its leaves. in early fall, they start to change bit by bit, before you get the full bright colours, you get the red mixed with the green.

These are still pending approval. A problem was discovered with using the Cornucopia leaf mats on standard Vue trees. It seems Cornucopia has used yet another fail safe feature to protect their work (which is understandable) that does not allow the use of their leaf mats without the original Cornucopia tree being installed on said computer. Basically if you don't have the Cornucopia trees which the leaf mats came from installed on your pc then you can't use my trees. You will get an error message. I'm going to redo them using just the Vue leaf mats which will work on any pc. Jim
