My favorite modeling program was blender. Sadly, being freeware, it isn't very powerful. (Carrara certainly is worth the money BTW!)Hence buying Carrara. I still like to make my models in Blender, since with the keyboard short cuts, and so few menues to go through, modeling is faster. (fewer menues really because it has less features since it is, admittidely, inferior). But just incase, once I've imported an object, I still want to know how to modify its shape in Carrara. How does one go about modifying an imported object, for instance, vertex modeling it?

I don't have Carrara available right now, but the basic options are these: 1. When you import the object, use the Options window to specify that you want to import it as vertex objects. OR 2. If you haven't imported the object as a vertex object, then you double-click it you'll get a little blank window that says there are no modeling tools for the object. When you have that little window on the screen, go to one of the menus (not sure which one) and choose the Convert to Other Modeler command, and then convert the object to a vertex object. - Joe

Also, export from blender in .obj format. I'd recommend option 1. for best results.
