Hi everybody. How do we emule a self illuminated object in P6...like a tv monitor or a lamp bulb...in p4 its just a matter of pushing the ambient light to white or whatever, but I cant make it work with p6.

Should work the same in p6. Set the ambient color to something else than black, set the ambient value to something greater than zero. Other than in P4, it's possible to connect a map to the ambient color input (in that case, it's best to set the ambient color to white), that will allow you to have a picture on your TV screen. It's also possible to have your self-illuminated surface illuminate other objects, using the Gather node on those other objects. So your TV screen can actually light objects that are close to the screen. There's a thread about this trick buried somewhere, search for "bioluminescense", here and in the Poser Technical forum, and it'll probably turn up. Good luck!

mmm...a search for "bioluminescense" brings up no threads in Poser Technical and only this thread in this forum!

Incidentally, this is probably a stupid question, but does the Gather node go on the part that I want illuminated (I guess so) or the part that does the illuminating?
