Subject: How to paint metal in photoshop

Hi everyone, Can someone tell me how i can paint a metal in photoshop, what sort of color do i need to make the metal look. Thank you for your time and help. Best regards Iraya

do you mean like a gun-metal gray?? or chrome? :) retrocity

  1. Fill the canvas with 50% gray 2) Go to filter-pixelate-pointllize amount 3% (you could use add noise also) 3) Now go to filter-blur-motion blur set the angle as you like it and raise the amount to about 40% 4) Crop the canvas to remove the distorted sides 5) That`s the basic metal, now try to play with curves, and H/S for rusted look Hope this will help you ;) Tihomir

There are also a number of metal, and metal-with-rust actions available at the Adobe Exchange site. You can break them down and see how to do it step by step (in action, as it were grin)
