...were to pause a render in progress, save the br5 file to a cd and then transfer the file to another computer, would I be able to resume the render? Or would it start over from the beginning?

I think the only answer to that one would be to try it and see. Don't see why not though. All the info you need should be stored in the Br5 file.

I have a feeling that it doesn't work. Try starting a render, stopping, saving and moving the file to another location on the HDD and then open up the copy. Maybe the BMP file is created as it renders and you need to copy that. But I've just tried it and can't make it work.

Yes it does work. I had a render that just wouldn't finish on my old PC. But I saved it to disk anyway. When I got this one, I loaded it months later as I'd forgotten about it, clicked on resume render and it did complete the render in a matter of minutes LOL!

Yep, gill is right. Looks like it works if you copy the corresponding bmp as well. Thanks all! :)
