hi guys! here are a few pics i took from a morning photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. i've tried cropping and rotating and still can't get this one to look right. i know composition sucks. focus could be better. not sure what else is wrong. postwork is minimal. i changed it to b/w and did a little selective coloring. i've tried cropping this so many ways but i can't make it look any better. any suggestions? sure do appreciate the help!

here's another one. i'm falling asleep...can't do the selective coloring in it yet. do ya'all like this one better? if so, you think i should do the selective color?

The only thing I can suggest is....never tie Your Sneakers Laces up in Bed :]

I like the top one better. In the bottom one, I see no reason for the glasses but in the top, he seems to be studying something, so the glasses "work" better here. I also think the contrast is better in the top (not sure why...smile) and the photo could benefit by a bit more contrast, I think. Your blacks/shadows look fine to me but (without knowing what color the sheets, etc., are) the whites seem to be absent from the image. I think I'd see what some contrast and level adjustment (or curves) could do. As to compo, I'm not a genius (LOL...by any stretch) and I will bow to, hmmmm, female comment in this area as a guy being "playful" in bed (I assume) is not something I can comment on objectively as it doesn't interest me as much as, say, a female in bed being playful (sorry...it's just me).

Thanks so much for your help & feedback, guys! LOL @ Tedz! Chuck, i also prefer the 1st image! Yep...my husband IS studying something alright! i was takin' pics of him in the morning, and well...er...uh...he started being silly and...uh...untied the drawstrawings of my pajama bottoms while i was takin' pictures of him. :) the sheets are green. and now that i look at these, i see you are right about the highlights...not much there except on his knuckles a bit. i'll work on that! Thanks!!! :) thanks for the feedback on the contrast too! i forgot i did do some curves/contrast adjustment, but i can do some more! Jeroen, wow...you gave me so much to think about here! I love both versions of what you did!! I messed around with cropping and rotating this thing so much and everything i did looked crappy but yours are fantastic! on the first one, i think i like the tight crop better. did you rotate that one also? if so, how much? on the 2nd one, i think i prefer the 2nd version where you cloned in the sheets. I like both of his hands to be showing. i have this thing about hands...to me they're just as important as eyes...especially in this picture. you did an awesome job at the cloning!! do you remember how much you rotated that one? Well, i will work on this one some more. I need some more coffee 1st. Thanks a bunch guys!!! :)

My second one was rotated 15% to the right, i believe the fourth one was 5% to the right. I didnt rotate my 1st and 3rd one though :o) Have a great day Sheila !! :o) Jeroen

"Yep...my husband IS studying something alright! i was takin' pics of him in the morning, and well...er...uh...he started being silly and...uh...untied the drawstrawings of my pajama bottoms while i was takin' pictures of him." I thought as much (smile) the wicked little devil (wink). I figured the strings led to you. I liked the color you added on them. It put the focus on the strings/ties and "leads" the viewer to the off-camera center of attention for the subject of the shot.

LOL @ Chuck!! smiles He sure was doin' his best to distract me from takin' pictures!!! :) Wicked little devil indeed!!!!! :) i still haven't had time to play with this image. Well, that's a lie. kemal and i were takin' pictures all morning, running around, and then i've been working on other images tonight. but i definitely will finalize this one! Jeroen...thanks for telling me that! sure do appreciate your feedback and help guys!!! :)
