This is a wire whisk taken in Macro mode. I used 'Difference' mode in photoshop for the effect. Nikon CoolPix 880. Comments and critique welcome. Colm...

This is really cool. I love how macro photography makes you look at things completely different. This looks like something out of Babylon5 or something.

...really beautiful. Do you have tips how to dissolve background? Use of directional light and dark background?

Antoonio. Can you be a little more specific? I will try to help but I need to know more. This photo was just of a whisk sitting on a bread board underneath the kitchen window on a very overcast day. The light was actually pretty low, and because I didn't use a tripod I had to hold the camera very still. I was actually just trying to run down the rechargeable battery in the camera so as I could give it a good full charge. I then brought the photo into photoshop and performed a 'Radial' blur on the whole image. I used the 'Difference' blending mode in the 'Fade' effect dialoge to obtain the dark mettalic look. No fancy lighting. Just really a snap. Colm...
